Jim has over 25 years experience as a Design Architect including leading talented design teams for a variety of civic, cultural, university, corporate & government facilities. Prior to co-founding Emersion Design he was the Design Principal for a 100 person multi-state A/E firm. Jim’s work has been recognized for excellence by the AIA, the GSA, the USACE, & the USAF & has been honored in regional, national & international design competitions. Jim earned his BArch degree from Cornell University & has taught undergraduate & graduate design studios.
Jim integrates design as a key element of each client’s financial & strategic objectives. He was the lead designer for the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Cincinnati Wing, the University of Cincinnati’s newest dormitory, academic facilities, & major master plans for the DoD while owner of another firm. His experience includes independent consulting as lead designer for development of a $250 million lab, research & aerospace medicine complex.
