counseling and family services center
This facility is the first of its kind in the US to provide family assistance services to clients in career transition. The building includes a large gathering/lounge space with two-story stone fireplace and vaulted ceiling with wood beams as the central social interaction area for soldiers and their families. Adjacent support areas provide financial, medical, and counseling services, children’s day care, and outdoor dining. A computer laboratory, group meeting room, and a large, fully equipped kitchen round out the space. A warm and family friendly color palette, extensive millwork, furnishings, window treatment, and artwork were designed to welcome visitors and make them feel at home.
This new 15,000 square foot, one-story facility is the initial building of a comprehensive Master Plan for a new Warriors in Transition Complex. This facility’s site and building development incorporated sustainable design features and will be certified LEED Silver.
