The Air Force Institute of Technology is the U.S. Air Force Graduate Engineering and Engineering Management University where scientists, engineers and management specialists can earn graduate and doctoral degrees. This new 57,000 square foot two-story addition will provide graduate level laboratory spaces for aeronautical engineering, advanced physics research in lasers, electrical engineering and nuclear engineering.
The new building will include an anechoic chamber, nuclear engineering labs, a research fabrication shop with a 10-ton crane, laser, optics, microwave, chem.-bio, dilute semiconductor, remote sensing and atmospheric physics labs. The building will be secured and will feature anti-terrorism / force protection design and will be designed to meet a LEED Silver Rating. The adjacent university complex will require renovation to interface the new laboratory addition. This existing space will be occupied during construction of the addition. This project is being designed and managed through our AEC Emersion Joint Venture.
