Art Climb at the Cincinnati Art Museum is a key element of a multi-phased master plan designed to activate the museum grounds and strengthen connections to surrounding neighborhoods. Rising 450 feet from a vibrant business district corner to the museum’s main entrance, the grand staircase provides both a unique recreational experience and an accessible route to the museum. Its design carefully responds to the existing topography, preserves established horticulture, and works with the site’s natural drainage patterns. Featuring integrated lighting, wayfinding, landscaped terraces, and sculpture display platforms, Art Climb functions as both infrastructure and public art. Choreographed lighting guides visitors to two scenic pavilions offering views of downtown Cincinnati and a neighboring park.
