laboratory
This historic 1934 three-story hangar was fully renovated into a state-of-the-art energy, power and thermal laboratory for the Air Force Laboratories Propulsion Directorate. The transformed facility supports advanced aviation propulsion research in electrochemistry, thermal management, power electronics, energy conversion, and power distribution. Specialized spaces include RF-shielded labs, SCIF areas, high-bay research labs, test cells, a turbo-generator lab, battery research labs, clean rooms, fabrication shops, and administrative offices. The design also addressed complex requirements for acoustic separation, hazardous material classification, and blast containment.
