Founded in 2007, emersion DESIGN approached the selection and design of its office space with sustainability as a core objective. After identifying affordable, expandable space within the Hamilton County Business Center, a local nonprofit business incubator, the team developed a long-term strategy to achieve LEED Platinum certification. The selected space featured abundant northern daylight and an open warehouse layout, providing an ideal foundation for a high-performance workplace.

By early 2008, emersion DESIGN had grown to 12 employees, reaching the capacity of its original office and prompting expansion into adjacent space. Through careful planning, ongoing cost and material analyses, and strategic product selection, the team maximized opportunities to earn LEED credits across multiple categories without compromising other sustainability goals.
