The renovation of the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Level B, or ground level, is now home to the new Carl M. Jacobs Study Center, the Marek-Weaver Family Commons, and additional art education classrooms. This space offers a community gathering area and serves as a rental venue for banquets seating up to 140 guests or lectures with up to 200 attendees, as well as a collections study center. A new entrance and monumental staircase connect to the main axis of the first floor, emphasizing the central role of community in the art experience. In a future phase, this new entrance will open onto a planned outdoor gathering and sculpture area.
